Congratulations!ANDREW BEELIK GIVES HISTORIC LOOK AT ART IN HUNGARY AT OCTOBER MEETING Members were treated to an interesting look at the art of Hungary and the Danube Basin at the October 9 meeting of PAA. Andrew Beelik gave a slide presentation and displayed artifacts. Mr. Beelik was born and raised in that area, and migrated to Canada, then the USA. He showed us beautiful native costumes and linens embellished with delicate hand embroidery and appliqué, hand painted and carved decorations in homes and churches, as well as fine art statues, stained glass, and ceramics. The modern architecture inspired by the yurts of nomadic Hungarians was blended with the medieval carved and painted altars in Northern Hungary and the frescos in the Coronation church in Buda.
