GARY ROGUE SHOWS UNIQUE “FOUND ITEM” SCULPTURES AT NOV. MEETING

Gary Rogue, owner of the “Kiss Me” Resale Boutique, displayed his sculptures that resembled robots, made of “found item”  such as metal coffee pots, clock frames, thousands of pins and brooches and other unusual items.  He explained how he got his inspiration from just the appearance of an item and then began to “construct” his creation in his mind.  His message seemed to be “let everything one sees become an inspiration for a creative endeavor.”
Following the program and a short break, our regular business was conducted, which included Show & Tell, with 12 members taking part.  They were Peggy Hosford, Getha Tidrick, Becky Schuyten, Martha Plunkett, Bob Chamberlain, Linda Bellon-Fisher, Deb Hart, Karen Suppes, Laurene Eske, Dick Carlson, and Pat Denney.

The first  item  on the agenda was election of officers.  The slate for 2008-2009 was:  President, Becky Schuyten; Vice-Pres., Deb Hart; Treasurer, Jora Lee; and Secretary, Linda Bellon-Fisher.  There were no nominations from the floor.  A otion was made and seconded that the slate be accepted, and it passed.  In addition to the elected officers, the other board members are:  Getha Tidrick, Sharon Brocha, Lee Perkins, Jim Brock, Laurene Eske and Janel S. Other business included discussion of the Members Only show, the Christmas Party, Meeting on Sunday in November, links to our website and future meeting programs.
