NEXT GENERAL MEETING: Program: DAVID EDWARDS, SCULPTOR David Edwards started sculpting while living in Italy in 1985. He moved to Olympia in 1991 and has continued to create beautiful pieces since. His work has been widely exhibited in the South Sound area, receiving many awards for his work, including Best of Show in our 1994 Spring Show and 2nd place twice at the Western Washington Fair, and other “Best of Shows” from Mason County Forest Festival and the Heritage Art Festival. GROUP HAS FUN WITH MEDIUMS On Sunday afternoon, January 11, our speaker, Anna Hoey, led members in a mini workshop, giving them an opportunity to play with combining watercolor, gouache, and pastels on matte board. The interplay of the different mediums caused some unexpected, but striking effects, giving each participant a new experience and some a boost in creative inspiration. Anna explained that one can use a variety of materials to create transparency, depth and texture in their pieces, and not to be afraid to experiment with combinations. It can open doors to new techniques for the artist and enhance and broaden the scope of their work REFRESHMENTS PROVIDERS WHO HAVE SIGNED UP: FEBRUARY: Peggy Hosford Meet Our Members: Jim Brock CALENDAR OF COMING EVENTS February 8 Gen.
