Summer 2009

LOTS TO DO, BUT NO GENERAL MEETINGS UNTIL SEPTEMBER.

Field Trip to Dick Carlson’s Studio, Tuesday, June 9, 6:30 PM

Our first event is a field trip to Dick Carlson’s Studio at Fawn Lake.   Dick is a wood artist who does some amazing work turning wood.  We will meet at the Craig Road Park & Ride at 6:15 to carpool  because there is limited parking.  If you need to drive your own car, directions to Dick’s are as follows: Take Craig Road to Cole Road and turn left.  Follow Cole to the Fawn Lake Gate.  To enter the development, stop at the gate and find the key pad, at the bottom is a “key” button,  press it twice, and then enter 3870, then the gate will open,  pass through and turn right .  Stay on this road until you come to #640.  You are there.

Third Thursday Art Walk in Tacoma,  Thurs. July 16, 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Come and join us for an evening of enjoying the work of local artists and the museums of Tacoma.  The Art Walk covers eight galleries downtown, the Glass Museum, Tacoma Art Museum and the Washington State History Museum.   The Glass Museum is free and well worth the visit.  We will meet at the Craig Road Park & Ride at 3:45 PM and carpool and caravan to the location.  For more information call Sharon Brocha at 426-3598.

Annual PAA Picnic at Fawn Lake,  Tuesday, August 11,  6:00 PM

Deb Hart has generously offered to host our annual picnic at the Fawn Lake Club House on Tuesday, Aug. 11.  Bring a main dish, salad, or dessert to share and come and enjoy the out of doors.  More information about how to get into the complex will be sent later.  The same directions as for Dick Carlson’s will apply, but you will need the entrance code for the day and directions to the club house.  Watch for a postcard close to the event, or call Deb Hart, 426-8906.
