SUMMER ACTIVITIES RECALLED The summer began with our last meeting May 12, at which rotating groups constructed five collages with various materials brought by the members. Those collages were taken home by members to dry and will be brought to the next regular meeting. June 1st, President Becky Schuyten treated the Board members and spouses to lunch at her house and next year’s program was discussed. Becky Schuyten, Sharon Brocha and Martha Plunkett, traveled to Tacoma on July 16 for the Third Thursday Art Walk. They visited the Glass Factory and the Tacoma Art Museum before having lunch at the Spaghetti Factory. August 11 about 25 members and guests took part in our annual picnic held at the Fawn Lake Pavillion. The event was hosted by Deb Hart and Dale Harris. OUR OYSTERFEST BOOTH NEEDS YOU !!!! Every member can be involved in the Oysterfest booth. We need people to help set up, and sell pies and ice cream .We need two or three people with health cards to supervise during the open hours of the booth. Most shifts are only 2 hours long . Our chair, Sharon Brocha will be calling people to help fill these shifts. Please be ready to give her a time that you can be there, if at all possible. ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER Every organization owes its existence to its leadership. Without the officers and board of directors the organization would be chaos and quickly fall apart. Many of our board members have served for three or more years and deserve a rest. We are hoping that other members will step up and fill the vacancies that presently exist and also give those that have served faithfully for a long time a much needed break. Positions that need filling now are treasurer, Newsletter editor, and board member at large. If you are willing to serve in one of these positions or any other, please speak up at the meeting, or call Becky at 426-1842.
